Best places to learn how to work on motorcycles?

I’ve been interested in motorcycles for quite some time. My boyfriend acutally races them (roadracing) so I’ve picked up a bit from him. But if I wanted to learn in a more where’s the best place to look? Do you think a local bike shop in the parts or garage?
